Passing Line

Objectives

- Learn appropriate Passing Technique

- Important rules in Rugby

Material Needed

- Balls

-Cones

- Belts

-Tags

Set Up


- Groups of 4 students, starting in line of eachother


- Teams need to go from one side of the court to the other side, need to start with the ball in one side and finish in the opposite side


- Passing the ball, but this one can't move forward.


- Give time for students to discuss how can they achieve this


Progressions


- 2 teams moving at same time


- Add one defender


Coaching Points


- Technique of the pass

- Stand sideways on to your teammate,

- Keep your hands on the side of the ball,

- Swing your arms like a pendulum and release towards the receiver

Set Up


- Different size areas (size of the areas will depend on sapce available) area will be divided in 2 (picture above) , to acomodate 3 students


- 2 Attackers and one Defender


- Attackers get a point if they can get to the other side of the area without the player on the ball getting tagged


- Defender gets a point if able to tag the Student that has the ball


- Attackers need to stay one in each area


- Defender can move freely

- Attackers can move freely, ( will create moments where attackers get to close of eachother)

- Space between attackers
