Focus is on midfield 3 positioning to create passing lanes into the forward players and options for them to join run. Also option for 8 and 10 to receive in the half spaces to play forward off 1 and 2 touch into forward players or for wing backs.
Structure with secure possession -
When midfielder on ball side receives option 1 - wing back in behind or to feet. Into the forward player or diagonal for forward run from opposite 8 or wing back.
Coaching pictures to replicate
1. 8 and 10 working away from the ball in false full back positions to create passing lanes to front two players - 8 and 10 making runs off the point players
2. 8 and 10 forward passes into wings backs, forward players
3. 10 forward run for diagonal pass opposite side
4. Into the 4 quick play around the corner into the point

Functional practice 7v7
7v7 functional practice using the central area of the pitch.
Practice begins with a 2v1 in the top zone, centre backs are restricted to two touches and can only build play in the central area (can't use wide channels). Only the front player can press the centre backs in the top channel. Once they have play forward it is open play. The 8 and 10 use the pitch markings as a guide to position themselves to open up the passing lanes to the 7 and 9. If the ball is played into the point consider disguise with movement to become join runner.
Consider the balance between the midfield 3, on the ball side 8 slides down to receive, meaning the 10 can be higher but still away from the ball in preparation for a forward pass or probing.
Key coaching points:
Midfield 3 to build up in a 2-1 shape, maintain triangle shape (don't flatten off).
8 and 10 to stay away from the ball (lanes 2 and 4, half spaces)
4 to act as a pivot and stay connected to centre half and 8 or 10.
Preparation of space to receive (use of disguise, timing to prepare space)
Pictures (frequency of scanning to create pictures to play quickly and forward)
Technical detail of receiving and weight/timing/ disguise/choice of pass.
