Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): U11 (9v9): Moving away from the 1st attacker to receive in Mid 3rd

Introduction

Organization:

• 22x22m grid (adjust according to size)
• Grid divided in for equidistant zones adjacent to each other
• Teams of 3 or 4 in each grid, 1 ball per team
• 1st to a count (first to 5, first to 10, etc)

Instructions:

• Teams score by completing one pass within a grid AND second pass outside grid.

Coaching Points/Questions:

Progressions:

• Team Defends and dribbles out of bounds.

Conditioned Game

Organization:

• 22x22m grid (adjust according to size)
• Grid divided in half
• 3v3 + 3 (2 targets, 1 floating neutral)
• Three 4-minute intervals (30" break in between)
• One team neutral in each interval

Instructions:

• Regular goal = 1 point
• If goal comes from a pass from defending half to attacking half = 3 points

Overview

• The center midfielder has the ball (#6), teammates #8 and #10 are open. We want to encourage #10 and #8 to open a passing lane for #6, rather than closing it.
