Midfield play combine with striker (20 mins)

Set up

-2 goals with 2 goalies

-4 cones

-15-16 players

-grid 10x10 adjust as per # of players

Drill

-grid in the middle of the field 10x10 ( adjust per skill and # of players)

-1 striker and defender at both ends

-play starts when coach plays a pass to a team in the grid, the attacking keeps possession in the middle of the grid for a # of passes( 3,4,5 etc...), once they get their pass they then play it into the striker for a 1vs1 to goal. If the defender wins the ball they counter attack quickly.

-If a goal is scored resatart with coach playing a ball into the team that scored.

Progession 1

-player that makes the pass into the striker joins in for a 2vs1

Progression 2

-once a pass is played into the striker any player can join in to create 2vs1

Progression 3

-once ball is played into the striker and a player joins in for 2vs1, then a second defender can join in as well to create a 2vs2

At any time you could add a neutral player in the grid to create a 4vs3

Coaching Points-

-movement off the ball

-quickly support your teammates

-head up to scan for teammates and space

-good quality passing

Set up

-2 goals with 2 goalies

-4 cones for middle grid.

-bunch of cones to mark out winger space

-15-16 players

-grid 10x10 adjust as per # of players

Drill

-grid in the middle of the field 10x10 ( adjust per skill and # of players)

-1 striker and defender at both ends

-1 wide player at each zone- moving up and down for support.

-play starts when coach plays a pass to a team in the grid, the attacking keeps possession in the middle of the grid for a # of passes( 3,4,5 etc...), once they get their passes in they can play the ball out wide, the wide player has 3 seconds with the ball on the outside,he must dribble down the line and get a cross in. If the defender wins the ball they counter attack quickly, and must play the ball into the the grid to start.

-If a goal is scored resatart with coach playing a ball into the team that scored.
