Organization- Cones, balls, pinnies
Duration- 15 minutes
Instructions- Start with 2 teams, defenders and attackers. Attacking player attempts to run past the defender without being tagged, defender runs out and sets up at the engagement line. Teams switch after 5 attempts, keep track of points for tagging player/ avoiding tag.

Body movement when attacking a defender- drop the shoulder to fake one direction

Organization- Cones, balls, pinnies
Duration- 25 minutes
Instruction- A- Have players backpeddle in a defensive stance with coach pointing to direction of movement, demonstrate how to pivot. Split team into 2 groups and work back from centre.
B- Split into groups of 6, 3 attackers and 3 defenders. Defender runs from the end to set up to defend when attacker starts to dribble, attempt to channel player out to the side. Switch after attackers dribble 5 xs.
Coaching points-
Coaches demonstrate defending movement to channel players
Focus on which foot attacker is using
Determine when to delay, when to lunge in for ball

Warm up (5 mins)
Organization- players do traditional warm up (have U10s start ahead of practice time)
Then have players play tag around 3 cones, run for 3 minutes, players switch when tagged or after 1 minute.
Progression- for the U10's add a ball to each player, they must dribble to try to tag their opponent. Run for 5 minutes.
