2vs1 attacking
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization:
1.Penalty area set up as shown
8-10 players (6Attackers, 2-3 Defenders, 1 Goalkeeper) set up as shown
3.1 ball (Additional around the outside)
Instructions:
1.Defending players starts the activity with a diagonal pass to an attacking player between the markers
2.Defender then applies pressure
3.The two attackers attempt to beat the defender to score on goal with either a dribble or combination. The first attacker dribbles at the defender to committ the defender, the 2nd attacker mkes a run around the first attacker for support.
4.If the defending player wins the ball they attempt to pass between the starting markers
5.The process is then repeated with a pass that should be made from the next defender in line at the opposite side of the goal
6.Rotate players after set time interval
Coaching Points:
1.1st attacker to commit defender to the ball
2.2nd attacker to offer support for combination either to the side or behind
3.1st attacker uses 2nd attacker to combine or as a decoy
4.Play at speed
Progressions:
– Limit attacker’s to a time ( eg- 7 seconds to score a goal)
– Increase the distance players have to combine in by starting 10 yards further back
– put a cone 10-12yards away(if defender is getting in too quickly adjust so there not getting so quick), 2nd defender must run arounf the cone and quickly get back in and help defend to create a 2vs2. This will encourage the attackers to attack quickly
