DEFENDING FROM WIDE AREAS
set up- 2 V 2 in each half , players must stay in halves. Midfield neutral player plays for attacking team to assist attack, play must visit outside players who are on 2 or 3 touches. Try to deliver crosses into 2 attackers or pull back to midfield player.
technical / tactical points - Defend space near / far post ,position allowing interception and clearence from cross, get across forwards to clear, back post defender open body, check attackers movements, step up to press ball if pulled back.
