Animation 1
Method:
pattern of play and follow your pass- player goes to the position he just played too
Scenario is ball is played to CB from keeper , the space opens up in front of him so he carrys the ball quickly to the gates were on winger is in starting position he moves to the first red disc opening up the space. from here the winger(11) in this scenario the winger line is blocked so he plays centrally to the 6, 6 switches the play to the 8 on the halfway line from here we enter the opposition half and attack with speed .....8 plays a set pass to the "other 8" who plays a first time ball between the second set of cones into the crossing zone where the other winger (7 although still right side) runs on to through ball and fires in a cross first time or two touches at most to the CF (9's) who stagger their runs crossing each other for front and back post and its first time finishes only because the next player has been released every time the 6 pass the ball in the drill !
Coaching Points:
players get a turn at all the positions in this drill
-CB open body to receive on back foot ,first touch directional and positive driving forward quickly to the gate
-11 to vacate the space to allow the CB to carry forward moves to the 1st cone to recive ball ,from here we imagine its all under pressure because we are coming close to the half way line so try to keep it one touch
-11 line is closed so he plays back to 6 who switches it out to the 8
-8 plays 1 touch set pass for the other 8 quality has to be good in center of park
- other 8 plays a though ball into zone between cones for 7
-7 meets ball at pace for hopefully first time cross to 9's
-9 stay on side ,time their runs crossing over should help them stagger their arrival times, first time finishes only
then the front 9 goes to back 9's position and back 9 goes to start again
