Progression would be that when blues win the ball, they then try score in mini goals instead of playing being dead. If whites win ball back they then try score in larger goals. Can call time if both teams are taking too long and get next attacking team to go

Setup: 5 defenders against 5 attackers. Defending team playing with a back 4 and a 6 infront of them. Attackers setup with 2 wingers, 2 central midfielders and a 9. Play always starts with goalkeeper kicking the ball out to one of the white midfielders to commence the attack for the whites. The blues should start in line with the poles, and once the ball is kicked forward, the defensive line pushes up, If the blues win the ball off whites, play is dead and the white return to the half way line, while defensive team starts back in line with poles. You would have 2 teams of whites (10 players) and one set of defenders.
Coaching focus: focus should be on the defensive shape of blues.
- when ball goes forward, are they all pushing up together as a unit
- when ball goes to one side, is one full back pressuring the ball, and the other fullback tucking in to support centrebacks
- when opposition striker receives ball are one of our centrebacks applying pressure to player so that he cannot turn and face forward
Etc
Once blues are defending well and winning ball most of time (they should be), then turn attention to help whites attack. Eg can we get our 8 / 10 to overlap 7 / 11 to create confusion and decision making for opposition 2/5. Can we get forward runs from 8 / 10 to support 9. Can we get 7 / 11 to make inverted runs inside instead of staying out wide. Etc etc.
