Focus: To practice timing of break, good passing technique, and good first touch at speed, while mimicing wall pass and combo play.
Setup: 4 sets of poles set up in diamonds as shown (use cones if needed). Two different teams starting outside the end poles. 2 balls (others nearby).
Game: Basic drill as before. Change to "M" Passing pattern. A passes and moves to middle of diamond to receive. He receives pass from B and then lays off outside the opposite direction. B takes a good first touch and runs with ball to make pass on opposite diamond.
(optional) Next player in line begins to hold up different numbers for both players to call out that are passing. Change number each pass. (teach scan, plan, and play)
Scoring/Duration: (optional) Make it a race; 3x through sequence on both sides for each player. Play 5 minutes and move to sequence 2.
Coaching:
- RAP (Rolling, Accuracy, Pace, and open hips) all passes
- Square shouolders and hips to all passes
- Think ahead
- Good passing technique to maintain accuracy
- Good V-cut, shoulder fake before going to receive
- Make cut to the side that player dribbles towards
- Move as soon as you cut "Get there; Get square"

Diamonds passing 1
Focus: To practice timing of break, good passing technique, and good first touch at speed, while mimicing wall pass and combo play.
Setup: 4 sets of poles set up in diamonds as shown (use cones if needed). Two different teams starting outside the end poles. 2 balls (others nearby).
Game: Begin with first player (blue player A) dribbling to the opposite diamond (across grid). As he nears half way, player B makes a v-cut out into space at a negative angle from player. Player A passes. Player B lays it back to player A and then holds run through diamond. Player A plays ball to center of diamond. Player B makes full speed sprint through diamond to receive, trying to take a good first touch but minimize any time inside of the diamond (1 sec max). Player B would then dribble and pass to begin sequence on other side. Both teams play at same time.
