Improving the Team's ability to build play from defensive half using Keeper's distribution to #4 & #5

Organization:
1. Field spacing is half of a soccer field
2. Players are set up as shown with back four and two attacking players #9 & #10 step up as shown
3. Session will be focused on the players in white
4. Center Mids #6 & #8 start the play from the bottom of the circle
Instructions:
1.The play starts with a short, short, long passing sequence between the #6 and # 8
2.The long pass is played over the top between goalkeepr and 2 center backs
3.Keeper should come off line to claim ball after which the possesion play starts.
4.Movement of players is shown where #s 2&3 move up and wide towards touch line giving the team width
5. #s 4&5 Move to the corner of the 18yd box to give team depth.
6. Keeper plays the ball to one of the CBs #4/#5 and the Back four attempt to play the ball out of the back.
Defenders score by playing into one of the small goals on the half line.
7. #s 9&10 are the only two oppostion players allowed to challenge for the ball. If they win possession they can go to goal.
Coaching Points:
1. Back four should stay compact at the start of play to keep the strikers honest.
2. When defense wins ball possession players must make quick off the ball runs to create depth and width asap.
3. When in possession, no cross-field balls, switching point of attack should go through GK or #s 4/5.
Progressions:
1.P – Increase the number of opposing players
2.P – Limit the back four to two touches
3. P - Back four can only score by dribbling the ball to the goal.

Organization:
1. Field spacing is half of a soccer field
2. Players are set up as shown with back four and two holding players for the white team (the focuse froup)
3. The green team will consist of a front 5 - that is derived from the 1-4-2-3-1 formation. Step up as shown.
4. All the balls are step up at the half line as shown.
5. The bull line at the bottom of the circle is a restrictive line that the white team is not allowed to cross and the green team is only allowed to have one player inside this zone, #8
Instructions:
1.The play starts with a short, short, long passing sequence between the #8 and one of the green team's wide players #7/#11
2.The long pass following the squence is played over the top between goalkeepr and 2 center backs
3.Keeper should come off line to claim ball after which the possesion play starts.
4.Movement of players is shown where #s 2&3 move up and wide towards touch line giving the team width
5. #s 4&5 Move to the corner of the 18yd box to give team depth.
6. #s 6 & 8 move to offer angles of support based on where the ball is
7. Keeper plays the ball to one of the CBs #4/#5 and the Back four attempt to play the ball out of the back.
8. Defenders score by playing into one of the small goals on the half line.
9. Green team tries to break up the possession play If they win the ball they can go to goal.
10. Green Team's #8 is not allowed to leave the restrictive zone and must try to cut off white teams attempts to score in small goals.
Coaching Points:
1. Back six should stay compact at the start of play to keep the Attackers honest.
2. When defense wins ball possession players must make quick off the ball runs to create depth and width asap.
3. When in possession, no cross-field balls, switching point of attack should go through GK, holding players, #s, 6/8 or the CBs, #s 4/5.
4. Quickly switch point of attack when the green team has more numbers covering one of the small goals.
Progressions:
1.P – Increase the number of Attacking players
2.P – Limit the back four to two touches
3. P - Green Team can only score by dribbling the ball to the goal (To encourage more mobility and combination plays of the back).

1. Half a field set up as shown.
2. Focus team is white. They will plays 1-4-2 formation
3. Opposition Team is Green and they will play 2-3-1
Instructions:
1. Regular Game Teams playing for 20-25 mins.
Coaching Points:
1. Quick movement off the ball to give angles of support
2. Center Backs and GK should look to switch the point attack when penetrating options are blocked.

WU Short/Short/Long (10 mins)
Organization:
1. Field spacing is half of a soccer field or whatever is available
2. Players work in groups of 3s
2. Each group with 1 ball
Instructions:
1.The sequence is two short passes and one long pass
2. Player 1 plays a give and go with player 2. On the return pass player 1 hits a long ball (15-20 yards) to player 3.
3. After the long pass player 1 immediately makes a run towards play 3 to offer support for the long pass
4. Player 1&3 then repeat the sequence with player 2 now becoming the furthest player.
Coaching Points:
1. Getting into line with the ball
2. Assess the flight as ball travels
3. Select appropriate surface for receiving the long pass
4. weight and accuracy of passes between players to maintain good tempo
Progressions:
1.P – Increase the passing distance
2.P – Limit players to one touch
3.Regression – Reduce the distance of the longer pass
4.P - Making passing sequence competitive first team to 10 reps.
