The Spare Man

Question - "Where is the spare man?"

1.three players (1,2 and 3) spread out on a 10yard line, 2 with balls at their feet.

2. player 4 stands on the opposite line takes a pass from one of the players witha ball at there feet

3.player 4 must send a pass to the spare man the player without the ball who did not pass to him

4.when there are 2 balls back at one end,one of the players deliver a pass to player 4 and it all starts again

the purpose is to receive, control and pass, ensuring that there is an understanding of which players have the ball.

this drill works equally well with more players, just always have one or two less balls than players.
