SSG- Transitions (25 mins)

Set Up:

7v7+7 (or 3 even teams based on numbers)

Quarter of the field

Instructions

1) Play a 7v7 match with players on the waiting team supporting the width and Depth.

2) Scoring team stays on and attack the goal they were previously defending.

3) Team on the outside quickly transitions on and looks to pressure the ball.

4) Team that was scored on sprints out to support the play.

- Target player on either side of the post is restricted to two touches,

- Players on the sides have unlimited touches to cross the ball.

- Players should play within structure.

Coaching Points

Attack:

- Get into attacking shape immedietly after scoring. (Width, depth, Inside Game)

- Look Far and inside

- Use your numbers to maintain possession.

Defence:

- Presssure the ball in order to delay the play when coming in from the outside.

- Pressure from structure and maintain shape. Players may be playing in different positions depending on where the last ball was scored.

- Striker pressures cb's, Outside of the diamond screen or pressure opposite teams outside, 10 pressures and screens the 6. The 6 pressures and screens the 10, defenders split the striker(one fronting one behind,)

SSG Possession and Counter Attack (25 mins)

Organization:

50x30 field 2 GKs one Neutral

-1 team in possession (5-10 passes=1goal) ( Wide with depth, let neutral play central)

-1 team defend and score at either goal (Diamond shape)

- Rotate every 3 minutes

- Progression: Open game

Coaching Points:

- Attack: Create passing lines.Maximize spacing(Width, Depth and Central options).

"Look Far"(Look for a pass away from pressure/Big View of field). Transition to

defending quickly.

- Defend: Play in a position (Pressure and Cover from there). Aggressive Attitude

(Pressure, tackle, intercept). Transition to attack quickly.

- Transition moment is important -What is the players reaction?
