Description

Player will pass the ball across, the receiving player will then control the ball before diagonally dribbling towards the other line as illustrated. After passing the ball, the player will performa dynamic movement instructed by the High Performance Coach. (2 balls going on at the same time)

Breaking the Lines (10 mins)

Instructions:

-Players A and B pass between themselves. They attempt to pass through the gate to player C. Player that didn't make the pass goes across and repeat the same process.

 -Progression would be adding a defend that is only allowed to go side to side

 Coaching Points:

-Player C needs to shift as ball travels between A and B

-As the ball is played to C the other player provided support

-Technique - players play with the outside foot to disguise their pass

- Players turn their hips in opposite way they are passing to disguise their pass - Players play one touch to increase the speed of play

 Progressions/Regressions:

- Player can dribble across the line if there is open space

2V1 & 3V2 (30 mins)

Set Up:

20X12 Area

Organization:

Play within the shaded area The yellow team will have 2v1 against red. Players must stay in their channels. After the yellow team shoots, Red get the ball and it becomes a 3v2. The two outside reds must stay in their are on the outside.

After a few minutes, players can move and only allow one player per square and continue the 2v1 and 3v2 activity.

Focus:

1. Close down space quickly

2. Take away the passing lanes
