Organization: Half of Quarter field at Pine Glen; One large goal; three mini goals at half. Supply of balls between the mini goals. 16-18 players. 7 blue (1-3-3) v 6 red (1-4-1).
Activity: Play starts with the server (S) who plays the ball behind the team defending the big goal (blue), who then must drop down and, together with their GK, must build from the back and attack the three opposing mini goals. Each sequence begins with the server and all the players pulled up high. Team may build from the GK using wide defenders, the checking central midfielder and can look to play long and direct as the situation dictates. Vary service to create realistic challenges. Resting players do technical work until rotated in. Ensure to rotate every 3-4 sequences and to rotate roles.
Progression: Add additional attackers for red to even out numbers and put more pressure on blue.
Coaching Points:
1. Look for FBs to get high and wide. CB should drop and offer a proper angle of support.
2. Check shoulders. Get a positive touch out of feet.
3. Patience. Don't force the play - remember what part of the field you're in!
4. Communication.
5. Look for combination play opportunities. 360 support.
6. Can we link through our central midfielder and look to penetrate?

Coaching Points: Reinforce key factors and objectives from the session.

Coaching Points:
Proper angles and distance of support.
Open up - pass to back foot.
As ball moves - wide players provide width (disperal front and back).
Patience on the ball.
Recognize when to penetrate - through, around or over. If not, then look to switch the play.
