(progressions) as soon as keeper has dived the second ball will be distributed and so on until 10 shots have been taken making the keeper react at a high intensity.
(Regression)
if the keeper is struggling a few seconds for the keeper to recover before the second ball is shot towards goal creating a low intensity exercise.
Challenges, Conditions or Targets:
Goalkeepers to dive to the right only 10 times
Goalkeepers to dive to the left only 10 times
(Target) save at least 3 balls from going into the goal out of 10 shots then inrease the target
(Aim) of the session is to get the keepers to build their reaction saves by diving from different angles as shown in the session above aslo getting up quickly to the second and 3rd balls from rebounds that will happen in a game situation.
The next phase will be to get the keepers to challenge the ball with 1v1 to see how they will make a decision on making themselves big and accelerating quickly to close the ball down.
Game situation keepers are only allowed to handle the ball and pass by throwing to their team mate but not allowed to run with the ball or travel, the way to score is by throwing the ball over arm under arm into the small goals this creates the reality of throwing to a player outfield during a game and increases target accuracy.
