1v1 Overload Mid Third (20 mins)

Rules/Explanation

  • Setup 1-3-2 formation
  • 40m x 40m field
  • 2 full goals
  • GK passes out to P1, P4 supports to receive the ball
  • Defenders press P1 & P4
  • P1 plays under to GK who passes out to P2
  • P2 makes a run forward - P4 make forward runs to create mid field overload
  • Defenders P1, P4 & P2 press attackers.
  • P2 passes into P3
  • P3 with his back turn passes under to P4 moving forward.
  • P4 attracts P2 defender and plays out to P5 running forward into goal.
  • Reverse and go the other way.

1v1 Forward Run to Score (30 mins)

Rules/Explanation

  • 5v5 with bouncer in the final thirds
  • 40m x 40m area
  • Goals in opposite corners
  • Poles in opposite corners
  • Encourage players to beat opponents 1v1 look to play forward.
  • Pass into end zone - bouncer has to play back for player to score.
  • Once the ball is in the end zone, any player can receive the ball from the bouncer to score in goal or run through poles for a point.
Progression
  • Allow a defender to go into end zone once ball passed to bouncer.
