Phase II: Fast break attacks in a position specific transition game.
To work on quick counter attacks after winning the ball - when the opposition are still unorganized
Set-up: 45x60 yard grid, divide field in 3 zones. Central zone is 45x30yards and 2 end zones are 45x15 yards. Each team has 5 players (2 attacking mids, 1 Holding mid and and 2 outside backs) with one extra support player in one end zone. 3 Neutral players, one inside and 2 positioned outside.
Objective: One team starts in possession and tries to score in on of the 2 mini goals with the help of the neutral players. The other team aim to press, win the ball and then make a quick transition from defense to attacj in the opposite direction and score, making sure to use their support player in the end zone.
Rules:
1. All players are free to move outside of the middle zone once a pass to a support player is made.
2. All players have unlimited touches but the neutral/support players are limited to 2 touches.
3. All players have unlimited touches in the central zone and 2-3 touches in the end zones.
4. All players limited to 2-3 touches but the neutral/support players are limited to 1 touch.

Phase III: Fast Break Attacks in a Position Specific Transition Game
Same set-up as Phase II but we replace mini goals with 2 full size goals and goalkeepers. We also have 1 attacker (A) and 1 defender (D) for each team in each end zone (replacing support players), which makes the fast break attacks more competitive and game realistic.
The objectives and rules remain the same
Coaching Points:
1. The defending team need to have maximum concentration to defend well as a unit, limit the time and space the opposition have and press to win the ball
2. In transition from defense to attack, the players need to quickly run forward from deep to support the attacker in the end zone, ask for the ball to be played into space and finish the attacks
3. Quick, quality and synchronized movements are needed to finish the attacks effectively.

Light Switch Transition
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Positive Transition in low zone.
Working on countering vs. 4-3-3 Midwest who has RB who pushes up high. Want to leave our LW and RW to exploit the spaces behind the OB's. Also, their CB's step with the #9 very hard, by having a false #9 this will cause a problem as they won't know whether to step or stay. If they step, then there is space in behind, if they don't step our #9 or other CM's can receive and turn to play forward.
Rules:
Blue team starts with ball and tries to score in small goals for 1 point. Defending team look to defend and counter. Once ball is played into zone 3 and there's a lay off, entire defense needs to be pushed up into zone 2 or counter stops. Then they are looking to score in big goal with a one touch finish.
