Target Boxes (15 mins)

20x20 yard grid with target boxes lined up on all 4 sides of the grid. Designate two opposing target boxes as Penny boxes and two opposing target boxes as non-Penny boxes.

Team scores goal by completing a pass to either of the two teammates in their target boxes. Target player must control the pass cleanly (entirely within the box), and no defenders can enter the box. When a point is scored, the receiving player dribbles out of the the target box and is replaced by the teammate who made the previous pass into the box. The attacking team now try to score by passing to their target player in the opposite box.

CPs: Open up to receive the ball and then take first touch into space within the grid. 2) mobility on and off the ball; 3) awareness: recognize the overload defense from opposing team and then switch fields, 4) communication

Midfield point of attack game (20 mins)

30 yard by 60 yard field with 3 sets of cone goals placed along each end. 2 cone goals in the center of the field should be only 2-3 yards wide; the other 4 goals (near each corner of the field) should be 6-8 yards wide.

6v6 or 7v7 with each team defending 3 goasl and attacking the other 3 goals.

CPs: 1) Look for players to have "their heads on swivels" to be aware of options to the right and left. Play the way you are facing whenever possible. 2) Encourage each team to use more width to identify switch opportunities. 3) Communication

Half Field Barrier Game (20 mins)

Half field with two goals. Cone off a 40-yard-wide barrier midway between the goals. 8v8 with keepers.

GK starts play. Players can travel through the barrier but the ball must go around it. GKs can distribute the ball only by throwing it. If the ball crosses over or through the barrier, then play is restarted at the spot where the ball was last touched by a player on the opposing team.

Adaptation :Open a small hole in the center of the barrier to give a third attacking option down the middle of the field.

CPs: Encourage the players to play through 4 tactical lines (GK/D/M/F) using the full width of the field to maxmize the available attacking space. 2) Encourage negative passes to create switch opportunities in the back. 3) communication.
