Working in pairs, set up a square of 4 different coloured gates. Player inside the gated square is the Reciever and is doing the work!
Player outside is the Passer
Excercise 1.
Players pass the ball between themselves.
When the Passer passes theball he must call out "One", "Two", or "Three".
The Reciever must use exactly one, two or three touches corresponding to the Passer's call.
Excercise 2.
Players pass the ball between themselves.
When the Passer playes the ball he must call out a colour.
The Reciever plays the ball back to the Passer and then sprints through the gate corresponding to the Passer's call.
Excercise 3.
Players pass the ball between themselves.
When the Passer playes the ball he must call out a colour.
The Reciever dribbles the ball through the correct coloured gate, back into his square and then plays the ball back. First touch must take player towards the gate.
Work each player for 2 minutes each and swap.
Make sure the players keep a high intensity!

Passing Recieving with 3 players.
Players transfer the ball from one end to the other through the central player.
Get central player to recieve the ball side on and on his back foot.
Progress by asking the non playing outside player to hold up no hands, one hand or two hands. The central player needs to call out the number of hands before he recieves the pass. Player must be checking his shoulder and scanning the area.
Progress by asking the non playing player to hold up no hands or one hand. One hand means he wants to recieve the ball from the central player. No hands means the central player plays a 1-2 with the passer and he then plays the ball across.

If you have 4 players, carry out a similar practice as Practice 3a but a progression to use could be to add an extra ball and have the 2 right hand outside players pass the ball between themselves and the central player needs to be aware who doesn't have the ball so he knows who to pass to.
Check shoulder and scan area.
