Screen 1

Description

Two groups, one square and one traingle to accomodate numbers. A passing sequence with interference.

1. Pass to feet; A passes to B, B receives and passes to C, continue around square/triangle following pass. Progression: (i) run to clockwise and anticlockwise (ii) vary surface to receive.

2. Pass to space; A passes to B, B passes back to A (who is following pass), B makes a run around cones and A passes into space, B passes to C. Continue around square/triangle.

Technical

1. Reception - surface and quality of first touch.

2. Passing - firm into feet, weighted into space.

Tactical

1. Movement - create space to receive, angle and timing of runs.

Physical

1. General movement skills; balance and coordination.

2. Acceleration and deceleration.

3. Functional football skills; receiving the ball.

Psychological/Social

1. Communication.

2. Challenged - accuracy.

3. Group work.

Screen 2

Description

Pitch 1; 2 balls, target players passes to red or blue who then play to the opposite target player.

1. Red or blue receive the ball to feet and take first touch into another square before passing.

2. Red or blue receive in space - target players passes into a different box.

Pitch 2; 1 ball a 1v1 exercise, players receive 1 point if they receive from an target player and pass to opposite target player. Players receive 3 points if their take their first touch into another square or receive into a different square to where they are standing before passing to the opposite target player.

Technical

1. Reception - surface, direction and quality of first touch.

2. Passing - firm into feet, weighted into space.

Tactical

1. Decision; feet or space / forward or retain?

2. Open body / observe space and position of defender.

3. Movement - angle, timing, blind side.

4. Support position of target player - to retain or receive forward pass.

Physical

1. General movement skills; balance and coordination.

2. Acceleration and deceleration.

3. Functional football skills; receiving the ball.

4. Body strength to protect.

Psychological/Social

1. Communication.

2. Challenged - 1v1 an points.

3. Group work.

Description

A progression of the 1v1 exercise. 4v4 with two target players, objective is to play forward passes into the opposite target player.

Technical
