Technical Shooting Practice
Organization: 1 channel= 16x8 yd. 1 ball per pair.
Instructions:
Players keep in the same pairs, set up like above, 1 ball between 2.
Player with ball dribbles half way and shoots to score between blue cones their partner is goalkeeper and stays between cones.
Score from half way= 2 points.
Score from closer than half way= 1 point.
Coaching Points:
1. Players approach the ball from the side
2. Non kicking foot is pointed at the target
3. Players are looking to use their laces, toe should be pointing down
4. Players strike the middle of the ball, watch their foot hit the ball
5. Players kicking foot should follow through to the target
Progressions:
1) Take away cone in middle and play 1 v 1 with GK limited to the goal line. Example- blue dribbles ball toward red and scores between the blue cones. Then Red dribbles at blue and scores between the blue cones.
2) Change partners

Organization: 2 lines of players behind blue cones. 1 ball per player. 1 goal.
Instructions: first player in each line dribble at outside cone simultaneously. Head up to see target and shoot with laces or place with inside of foot. Switch lines after shot.
Coaching Points:
1. Observation of the target
2. Angle of approach – off center
3. Head down at the point of contact
4. Non-kicking foot placed to side, slightly behind the ball
5. Ankle locked, toe down
6. Contact foot – laces (instep)
7. Body weight forward, chest and knee over the ball at contact
Progressions: 1. Dribble and shoot - no goalkeeper. 2. Coach plays goalkeeper. Place cones in between center of goal and post and play a game. 1 point for a goal, 2 points for a goal between cone and post.

Instructions:
Players must make from first red cone line to sencond line of yellow cones two touches and try to shoot on goal, if player scores is save must then run quickly to become the goalkeeper and player second in row must try to score if a player doesnt score must save as a goalkeeper, player goes out if doesnt score and save. Players that go out must go behind the goal is they catch a shoot on air can go back to the game.
Coaching Points:
first touch positive out of feet
strike with laces and ankle locked
touch the ball forward and to the side to allow a run up
step into the ball and follow through in the direction of the target.

Instructions: 1player is goalkeeper. 4 field players for each team.
Coaching Points: reinforce:
Head down at the point of contact
Ankle locked, toe down
Contact foot – laces (instep)
Body weight forward, chest and knee over the ball at contact
Follow through landing on striking foot
Positive attitude towards shooting
Progressions: Subs rotate in regularly.

Technical Shooting Practice
Organization: 1 channel= 16x8 yd. Blue cones 8 yd apart and 8 yd from tall cone. 1 ball per pair.
Instructions:
Players keep in the same pairs, set up like above, 1 ball between 2.
Players are shooting their ball at a tall cone toward their partner on the other side, they will then repat for 5 minutes varying the distance they shoot.
Coaching Points:
1. Players approach the ball from the side
2. Non kicking foot is pointed at the target
3. Players are looking to use their laces, toe should be pointing down
4. Players strike the middle of the ball, watch their foot hit the ball
5. Players kicking foot should follow through to the target
Progressions:
