Brand Building - Pattern Play Pattern 1 - Build through the back

Pattern starts with a punt to the center backs who win the ball out of the air.  When the goalie has the ball, communication in team is squeeze, meaning we get tight across the team in width towards the center of the field to win the ball.  Upon the punt, the players communicate Ball Winners and win the ball with a head or volley.

Pattern begins as illustrated with whichever centerback that the ball came to straight ahead to the 6/8 ahead of them.  They will then receive on back foot and play to the opposite centerback who has opened up, dropped off as an option, and will play to the outside back on their side who touches forward like they are attacking.  Note that while this is happening, the entire team is shifting around the pitch.

Pattern then continues with the outside back now playing to the strong-sided 6/8 who receives on the back foot and then plays to the opposite outside back who has dropped off and opened up and receives on the back foot to then play to the now strong-side outside back.

Pattern Continues with the outside back playing to the 7/11 on that side who receives on the back foot and works to combine in a wall pass with the 10 who has worked to combine with her.

7/11 now crosses to the 9 and opposite 7/11 who have had movement away from the cross to get across their player in the box, and then finishes with their front foot.
