Only opposite number can tackle
Number teams on both sides.Normal style match but you can only tackle the opponent with the same number as you. For example, if you are number 3 you can only tackle number 3 on the opposite team. You are able to intercept an attempted pass but once the pass is sucsessful only that players opposite number can tackle him. This game is designed to practice man marking and transition and movement in and out of possesion. It also improves metal sharpness and abilty to be switched on.
Progression (discs marking last 3rd's)
Go to normal all in match to finnish but 3 passes need to be made before you can shoot unless you are
in the last 3rd.

Shooting under pressure from edge of area.
Player 1 does a 1-2 pass with player 2. HPlayer 2 Then has a big touch and heads towards goal. Player 2 is allowed then to close down player 1. Player 1 has to get his shot away before the line. Once the ball is dead or taken players 1 and 2 swap positions and the excercies then repeats between players 3 & 2 and so on. All players rotate after every go to all be involved and shoot form different positions. More players would cue behind players1,2,3 or could have 3 attackers and 3 defenders rotating stikes at goal.
Key Points
Attacker should have a good first touch infront of them. They should get an early shot away or create 1/2 a yard and shoot. If they double back or hold on to the ball for more than 6 seconds then the phase of play has ended. Defenders close down qickly after 1-2 but stand up not to over comit. Show good bodyshape to send attacker on weaker foot.

Pushing up match (20 mins)
Pitch
Set up a 5 or 6 aside pitch (roughly quarter of a 9v9 pitch for 10-12 players. reduce size if less players.
Equipment
Goals or poles, discs or poles to mark halfwat line, bibs cones to mark pitch and balls.
Objective
Normal match except the attacking team must all cross the halfway line for a goal to count. If a player remains in their own half when the goal is scored, it will not count.
Purpose
Pushing up reduces the space between the lines. If we push up as a team reducing the space between strikers and midfield and midfielders and defenders, we reduce the size of the pitch our oppositiion can play giving us a better chance of pressing and winning back the ball. If we can win the ball higer up the pitch we increase our chances of creating a goal scoring oppotunity.
Key Points
Emphasise the need to be alert and switched on. When you push up, do so with speed. Run/jog and not walk slowly. Bring your team mates with you. if someone is behind, call them to push up.
