Method: WARM UP AND ACTIVATION
4 CONES 1 METRE SQUARE
Keepers behind endline cone.
1. Keeper move forward to accept face volley. Returns to start point for second volley. x 3
2. Keeper comes forward to catch ball at highest point x 3
3. Keeper moves from centre back around front left cone. Slide to claim to left. Recover to claim to the right. x 3
Repeat coming around roight cone . x 3
4. Keepers goes on goal line on left. Accepts volley from server. Moves immediately to right for second volley from server x 3.
Alternative - 2 keepers changing position on goal line with two servers.
Coaching Points:
Prepare players for match by getting hands and feet moving.
Good rhythm essential to the drill.

Method:
1. Fun start.
. Light jogging (17m X 2)
Long Skip – Knees Up (17m)
· Long Stretch (4 over 17m)
· Jog, point foot up. Reach to touch (17m)
· Kick across body on move – L &R (17m)
· Windmill arms forward and back (2 x 17 m)
2. Activation - GK and two servers. GK saves close volley, throws back and immediate close volley from the second player. x 12 reps . Front gather of bounced ball from server. Return. Immediate bounced ball from other server.
3A. Passing - Two servers located on the edge of each side of the penalty area. Deliver passes with the goalkeeper who must control and pass to the other side x 10 reps
3B. Passing - Two servers located 10m out on the edge of each side of the penalty area. Deliver passes with the goalkeeper who must control and pass to the other side x 10 reps
4. Mid range Passing - Two servers located close the sideline 25-30m from goal. Keeper receives pass from server, controls and passes with accuracy to the opposite server. Reps x 8.
5. Long range kicking: Servers stationed on the half way line close to the side line. Keeper served a ball centrally by the coach. Gather ball and side volley to the target server. Reps x 6
6. Crosses: Servers located at 30m approx 10m from the sideline. Progressively move to 20m and then 10 m.Keeper on gathering cross throws ball accurately back to the server. 1 crosses from each location on each side so 6 reps.
Coaching Points:
1. Fun start designed to loosen up keepers
2. Set position established and footwork moving across goal.
3. Activating good control by the keeper with open body shape
4. Continue activation theme but stronger emphasis on control of the ball. Open body shape on receipt and firm passes returned to the server.
5. Side volley technique for accuracy and speed of pass.
6. Attack ball square on taking at the highest, safest point. Perfect accurate throwing motion.
