Setup:
Y pattern as shown. 15 yards between cones.

Activity:
A) Lose your marker at each cone/pole.
As ball travels to last player, defender closes, applies pressure and back pedals (no tackling)
Progress to full pressure with tackling
B) Add in combination play with 1-touch passing
C) Add in central defender to dictate whether CM can turn or needs to lay off (A or B pattern)
Coaching Points:
+ Def: travel while ball is traveling
+ Def: break down and match speed backwards. Wait for mistake.
+ Att: lose marker by getting out of space you want to get into
+ Att: Technical: point shoulder; receive behind standing foot; slide toe down back of ball

+ Communication - which way to press - "push left", "push right"
+ Angle of support to protect goal and read next pass

Attacking team setup in 2-3-3 (outside backs in gates)
Activity:

Defensive team tries to score through gates. Can either score by passing on ground through gate or by playing in air and ball lands in red square (force outside back to cover space)
Coaching Points for defensive transition:
+ Pressure: check shoulder - force into support (usually inside).
+ Recovery runs to guard goals
+ Force play sideways or backwards
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
