Passing in Attacking areas - Extra Man
Starting point - 3 attackers v 2 defenders (plus a GK)
3 attackers must complete 5 passes before they can attempt to score, Encourage movement of attacking players to create space to receive a pass.
Progressions -
- Add another defender 3 v 3
- Attackers need to maintain possession (specify an increased number of passes)
- Increase both defenders and attackers up to 5 v 5 or 6 v 6
Key Points -
As before - identifying target, follow through on impact when playing a pass. For receivers - call for the ball, eye contact with player (verbal / non-verbal communication), get in line and relax on impact

Game -
Players must play ball into coned-off end zones (and have a player receive it to score)
Conditions (if required) -
- Complete a set number of passes before attempting to "score"
- Every player must complete a pass before they can score

Passing & Control
Groups of 4 - 3 players in a triangle in front of cone. 1 player in the middle.
Player in the middle recieves pass of an outside player then makes a turn and dribbles towards a different player. They play a 1-2 and repeat.
Can progress to passes with different parts of the foot (outside of foot, small chipped pass)
Rotate player in the middle every 2 mins.
Key points -
Players on outside - head up, identify target, non-kicking foot beside ball, strong connection with inside of foot to receiving players feet.
Receiving player - on toes ready for pass, get in line with the ball, relax on impact
