Station 1 - Relay Races

Set up:

- Have a mix of cones and hurdles set up as shown aprox 10-15 yards from starting point.

Organization

Split group into teams of 3 or 4.

Various relay races

1 - Dribble around top coen and pass back

2 - Dribble in between cones and pass back

3 - Add in jumoing over hurdles on run back

Make competiitve and keep fun.

Coaching Points

Close control, speed of dribble, pass with insdie of foot

Set up

Tow goals meeded. Set up 25 yards apert with an 8X8 box in the middle as show

Organization

Two teams at each goal. First player from black team dribbles into box and shoots on goal before back peddling to become the goalkeeper for his team. As soon as the player in black has shot the next white player driibbles into the box to shoot. Every shooting player must then back peddle to become the new goalkeeper - cycle continues.

Progressions

Swicth which side they come from (left/rght footed shot)

Make competitve - punishments for losing team

Set up

Grid 20X30 as shown

Organization

All layers have a ball and stand at one end line as shown. One player (white shown) is designated as the "Bulldog" to stand in the middle of the grid. All players must dribble from one end line to the other without the bulldog kicking their ball out of the grid. If that happens they also becoema bulldog. When all dribbling players get to opposite line they work back on coaches command wih additional bulldogs in the middle second time through. Continue until you have only one player left who is the winner.

Coaching Points

Dribble at speed and with the head up. Dribble away from the pressure.

Station 4 - Dribbling/Turns

Set up

Place numerous 2 X 2 X 2 triangles in a 30 X 30 yard grid as shown

Organization

Each player has a ball. Players must dribble around the area and get through as many triangles as they can in 60 seconds. Start with simple dribbling with emphasis on going in one side and exited through a different side of the triangle. Progress to change of direction and change of speed. Add in turns - scissors, drag back, Cryuff etc.

Progressions

- Split group into two teams: who can get through most gates - make competitive

- Have one team dribbling, other team defending them. Turn away from pressure and dribble to open gates without defenders winning the ball.

Coaching Points

Speed of dribble, recognition of space, change of direction, change of speed, quality of turn/technique

Two 20 X 35 fields with mini-goals/pugs as shown

Organization

3v3 or 4v4 games alongside each each other. Players are encouraged to have free play with no one touch soccer. Try to keep teams even for competitive games and rotate opponents every 3-4 minutes.
