RAPID FIRE GAME
* 3v3 fast paced transition game
* Ideally you need 14 players for this game
* Goals positioned on goal line and approx half field
* Can take a shot at opponents goal once they cross the middle line
* In this image Blue team starts with the ball and 3 players attack Red's goal. Red defend with 3 players.
* If attacking team has an attempt that scores or misses the goal they now defend and 3 new opposing players come in with a ball
- How quickly can Blue transition from an attacking shape to a defensive shape?
- New team does not have to wait for the opponents to be ready if they are not - this is the whole point of the game i.e. penetration when opponent is not yet organized
* If the goalkeeper makes a save both teams stay on and play continues
* For any ball that goes out of bounds a new team comes in if the ball was lost on their side
KEY POINTS
* Attack with speed (don't wait for opponent to be ready - exploit them if slow to transition to defence)
* Look for numbers up situations and attack that space
* Aggressive with attacking decisions when opponent is not organized
* Patience in attack when opponent is organized
* If attacking team is running in straight lines, bring players in and promote / demo overlapping runs or angled runs across the opponent to create space
* Straight passes for diagonal runs vs diagonal passes for straight runs
* Never turn down an opportunity to shoot past middle line
* Change of direction / skill moves and change of speed in 1v1 situations to create space
