Organization:
1. 15 x 15 Grid
2. 4 cones total, 2 of each different colors and 2 poles (as shown above)
3. If you don't have speed ladder or hurdles use soccer balls.
4. If you don't have speed poles use cones on the ground where they must run pass or make them run pass the coach and give a high five (use the tools you have).
Instructions:
1. Players work in pairs.
2. The coach places two cones in front of him (on the ground) at the same color as the players (yellow-red) and puts his hand out and points at the direction of the sticks (red-yellow).
Example:
(a) Coach steps toward the yellow cone on the ground before players start (weaving through or jumping over the balls) to see which color must respond to his next directions.
(b) Before they get to the last ball the coach then points in a direction (left or right) for that player to run through, which means the other player does the opposite.
Coaches Points:
1. Try to perform this soccer speed exercise with more difficult starting positions.
2. In this variations players turn and show their back to the coach. For the coach's command they turn, run through the balls look up, react and sprint to the given stick.
