THE SESSION: 2 boxes of 4 (more numbers are fine) first minute have players pass and move. Than instruct players to pass and move around cone. Teach the importance of awareness in the session, players must check shoulder before receiving ball and before moving around cone, players must also face the play players can then move to any side of the box not just around a cone.
PROGRESSIONS: players now must only pass right after every pass and to somebody different. Progress this to Left only and then right and left passes.
KEY MESSAGES/POINTS: Awareness, communication, eye contact, strong pass

Small sided game.
End zone game.
3 minute games then players rotate. Mix up players so they all get to play against each other.
Can players get 3 or 4 passes without giving the ball away. Once passes are complete, can player pass the ball into a shaded area into a player moving forard into the zone.
Progress by:
Add poles (as shown in diagram) so players now have to play the ball through them for player in shaded area to receive the ball.
Players in shaded area now play freely so makes a 5v5 or 6v6 game. Goals can only be scored when a player receives a pass from opposite zone and makes their run through the pole. If players are advanced, get them to play the ball through the poles to score a goal.
Key points:
Can players play a first time pass?
Limit the passes, if they can play forward into the shaded area, encourage it. This will help their decision making process.
Play what they see, usually the first pass is the correct pass.
Always encourage and keep them moving about.
Remember the theme, using the instep to score.
