Aim:
- WE 3-4 Medium cross far post in the air
- Prepare technically the ability to cross the ball, and anticipate the flight of the ball and time your run to connect with it
Organization:
- 4v4+2 (1, 3, 10, 9) 7/11 neutral
- Both teams trying to score on the goal, double points from a far post cross
- Neutrals only ones allowed in the red zone
- 30-40 yards long, 40-55 yards wide
- Halfway zone 5 yards long
Coaching Points:
- In transition moments find the 7/11 early
- Good first touch by 7/11 to set up for cross
- Movement by attackers to get into positions for the early cross (9 near post, 10 cut back, 7/11 far post)
- 9 can go far post if its a counter attack
- High ball in the air to get over the keeper
- Adjusting feet to finish
- Choose right person to cross to (open player)
Progressions / Variations:
- Allowed to pressure the neutrals
- Take away neutrals - make it 6v6 if enough numbers (1, 3, 10, 7, 9, 11)
- 4 Neutrals, one on each side
- In order to score all players must be in attacking half (except one in the halfway zone (3)), and defensively if all defending players are not back in own half (one in halfway zone (9)) then the goal counts double
- Far post cross counts double

Coaching Points:
- Medium cross (not too early, allow 9 to get closer to box)
- Cross in air and away from the keeper
- Timing of the run from the 9
- Adjusting your feet to get a good finish
- Starting position of keeper
Progressions / Variations:
- Rotate the other way so now they are using their left
- Add a defender who starts on the opposite side of the 9 to make it more realistic (can only run once the 7 gets past the second cone
- Competition with goals scored/assists
