Playing Out (6+1 v 5) (20 mins)
Playing Out From The Back (BP 6+1 v 5)
Objectives - BP Score into small goals / BPO Win ball back and score as fast as possible into big goal.
Rules - BP (red team) #6 and #8 cannot leave the middle zone at all! BPO (yellow team) can move anywhere. BP (red team) other players are allowed to move anywhere.
Gameplay - Ball always starts with BP Goalkeeper. Encourage BPO to press aggressively to win ball back whilst cutting off direct passing lanes into small goals.
BP Objective - Can we isolate the opponents #9 by moving the ball between Centre Backs and GK. Looking to create a comfortable distance between ball carrying Centre Back and opponents #9.
Look for oppositions winger to press CB or leave CB with space to carry forward and engage.
Patience between CB's and GK to pick right time to engage.
BP #6 and #8 can you look to support the ball from coming underneath opposition (when the ball is with CB's? OR support Full Backs.
What is success for BP?
* CB's engaging an opposition winger which releases Full Back
* CB's engaging an opposition central midfielder which creates a 3 v 2 overload in central areas. (Can the Full back also look to support this overload and get beyond opposition winger?)
What is success for BPO?
* Blocking forward passing lanes to small goals.
* Winning the ball back high up the field to create a goal scoring opportunity.
