10v4 Rondo (15 mins)

10v4 Rondo (Or as Close as Appropriate. 8v3, 9v3, 10v3 or 11v4 works well too).

Positionally ensure that team in possession have between 2-3 players in a central area, playing off angles to be options to play through.

Team defending (Blues pictured) retain possession if ball is won back.

Points System - Team in possession (Reds) get a point for 8 consecutive passes. Team chasing (Blue) get a point for every second they hold on to the ball once recovered. New chasers every 2 minutes.

Coaching Points;

- Choose correct time to play around the outside, or when to break a line

- Short bounce passes to draw people out of position

- Midfielders create angles to break lines to play forwards

- Speed of play needs to be sharp, 1, 2 touches when looking to switch the ball

Breaking Lines to Combine (25 mins)

Breaking Lines Practice.

Play starts with a GK (if you have 2), or a #6 or Centre back just between the two goals. 4 Reds occupy Zone 1 once ball is played in. Reds are looking to break the line of the back 4 into their strikers. This can be done by playing a pass through the back line, or via the wide players. Wide players are permitted to play into the strikers off of one touch. If they take 2, ball must be reset into Zone 1.

Once strikers receive a pass, they must combine with each other before getting a shot away.

Defending team are able to send one player into Zone 1 at any one time to pinch the ball. Once the ball breaks their line, all 4 defenders get back to defend the goal. If Defenders win the ball back, it becomes a 4v4 and they are able to score in the 2 mini goals.

Coaching Points;

- Patience in Possession - Look for right opportunities

- Decision Making, when to play wide, when to play through

- Change of speed/tempo, disorganize back line

- Crisp passing, on the ground to give forward players best opportunity to score
