Organisation & Layout
- 4 players
- 40(6) x 15
- 5 mini goals, 1 mannequin.
- Players have 1 reps at each 3 targets, then the players rotate
- Each rep consists of a pass from wide, touch outside line of mannequin, then pass (1, then 2, then 3)
- Condition - Pass 3 must be received inside the shaded area
- After each player has had 2 rounds, change side they receive from, to work on range of passing from other foot.
COACHING POINTS
- Movement off the mannequin when receiving ball off LB
- Receiving on back foot to play out at speed
- Must always take a first touch
Types of pass
- Pass 1 - Low & punched in (Realism to game: Play into FBs back foot to play forward)
- Pass 2 - Low & punched in (Realism to game: Play into number 10 / false 9)
- Pass 3 - Clip the ball over getting backspin on the ball (Realism to game: Playing over, breaking the line in behind for the winger to chase
Progression
- Potential Progression = On first pass, play back to wide player with softer pass to safe side, for them to play round the corner to top goal. This changes type of pass with different game context
- Make final 5 minutes of the practice a competition, 1 point for each successful pass
- Use coach to add pressure on the ball
