Organisation
Set up cones to create a square 25x25 yds.
Split players into 2 teams - 4/6 blue and 4/6 yellow - 8-12 players in total.
Instructions
Blue player begins by playing a long pass to his diagonal teammate, and then moving to receive the ball back from his teammate and playing a short 1-2 combination. Teammate repeats the exercise with his blue teammate in the opposite corner.
Yellow team undertake an identical exercise at the same time.
Players must be carefule not to interfere with the other teams players.
Coaching Points
Eye contact before passing the ball
Players must be alert to the location of the secong group and delay pass/movement accordingly.

Organisation
Set up outer red diamond togetehr with inner blue diamond as illustrated.
Place 2 blue players on each red cone, together with a two yellow players on inner blue diamond.
Use one ball to begin.
Instructions
Blue players play a short one two combination with yellow player before longer pass to fellow blue player.
Blue players follow their pass.
Yellow players keep switching between two blue cones in order to maintain one-two combinations.
Coaching Points
Inside of foot control and passing.
Eye contact with receiving player before passing.
Receiving player must come off the cone with proper timing. Coordinated movement is essential to make the pattern realistic.

Organisation
Split players into 5 yellow, 4 blue and 2 red neutrals.
Create a main area 30x30 yds, together with a 10 yd end zone.
One yellow acts as server; 2 red neutral players are restricted to the end zone to begin.
4 yellow v 4 blue in main area.
Instructions
Objective is for the forwards to drop deep to create superiority in numbers and help retain possession in midfield.
Yellow team aim to keep possession and complete 10 consecutive passes with the help of the two forwards (red neutral players) and the yellow server (restricted to one touch only).
Red neutral players can only drop into the main area one at a time and can only remain in the area for either 10 seconds or after having received and played a pass - they must then return to the end zone.
The ball cannot be played into the end zone.
If the blue team win possession, can they make 6 consecutive passes.
Coaching Points
Good communication between red neutral players.
Well timed runs of red neutral players.
Movement of yellow players - timing of runs.
Eye contact before passing the ball.
Progressions
Reduce length of time red neutral players can remain in the main area to 5 secs to encourage better timed runs.

Set up cones as above, accentuating long pass and shorter pass.
Use only one ball.
Instructions
Players work together in pairs - yellow and blue.
After the long pass from blue player to yellow player, the blues rotate and vice versa.
Play two touch on longer passes and one touch on shorter passes.
Coaching Points
Eye contact with the receigin player before passing
Receiving player must come off the cone with proper timing
Firm passing to push player's ability and make passing game realistic
Progressions
One touch only for both long and shorter passing.
