Expanded PTDM - Switching play and finding AMs in the pockets

Reds in possession look to build up play to find a player in space to dribble through one of the sets of cones. The defending midfielders can not drop into the zone until the ball enters it. The blue players are half way are resting target players, if the blues win possession the need to pass into a blue target to switch roles.

Patient in build up, but always looking to penetrate

Finding AMs in pockets opposite from pressure (other side)

Switch play how? Through CB, HM, WM, STR

Jump lines if possible/Pass feet or space

3rd man dynamic

Drive in to commit defenders in inside channels

Create overloads

Ways to attack the goal

Dribble through either set of cones

Pass for an overlap from the winger for a cross (1 touch finish)

Build up play the zones 2 CB's and 1 mid can drop in to build out, forward can press with another blue mid to help if it is right choice.

Ball must progress up the field through the central channel (FBs/ Wingers work full length of field. Red AMs taking up good positions in pockets, striker checking in at right times. Driving at last line and engaging defenders. Decision making and end product.

When ball is in the shaded central area, the 3 defenders must position in the two closest zones to the ball. full backs join as bumpers but cannot advance. Ball can only advance forward

through the shaded area.
