⚽Practice Organization

  • A session devoted specifically to intense change of direction  ability 
  • A double action exercise that develops player's sprinting ability after a 360 deg. turn
  • Maximal sprinting ability and feet positioning pre sprinting action/on different directions   
⚽Key Coaching Points

  • Players execute this one by one
  • Players have to react and move according to the stimulus provided from the coach(cones)
  • According to the structure of this exercise players have to apply 2 different actions(1.stride run and deceleration 2. run around the stick/pole and sprint towards the cone demonstrated by the coach, either blue or red)
  • These points have to be elaborated clearly to the group of players
  • In a more detailed way, players have to drive their steps ''deep'' and quickly next to the pole in order to be as agile and quick as possible. We want to minimize the ground contact time and concurrently we aim apply the most possible Rate of force development while stepping
  • Players stay always on their toes and fully active, expecting the colours dictated from coach(coach lifts raises red or blue cone up in the air) 
  • At the moment that player realizes which color is the appropriate one, he has to sprint as fast as capable towards the respective cone
  • Distance between cones and pole is 10 meters
  • Deceleration has to be executed in a manner that allows to our players to move on to the next action
  • Coach has to provide constant feedback to the players while executing
  • We execute 4 repetitions for each player
  • Coach has to distribute the repetitions evenly so not to load one side more than the other
  • Rest after a ''total repetition'' has to be(every player executes one repetition)25'' seconds
  • Players should not decelerate after the part of the pole(we expect all out sprint)
