This session is designed to get the players looking to play forward as early as possible. Good body position and vision plus selecting the right type of turn when on the ball are all required

Players to form groups of three around an area the size of the centre circle, with one player in the middle. The player in the middle receives the ball from one of the outside players, and opens up to receive the pass across their body, then get their head up to play in the other outside player. The outside player then plays the ball back to the middle man who repeats the turn and pass. Outside players are to move around to provide a target. Players can change over the middle after a few passes.
Coaching Points:
Can you perform the turn in traffic
Can you scan the area early to decide best type of turn

Objective: Looking to Play Forward Early. The ball is played in from the end player to the attacking team to turn and play either their teamate or the opposite end. The attacking team can switch halves but they can't be in the same half together. The defending team must stay in their own half. If defenders win the ball, they become the attacking team. Swap the middle regularly.

Skill Intro - Creep Game (5 mins)
Creep Game. Intro.
Setup a 10x10m grid with a player on each corner and 1 (tagger) in the middle. The idea is for the outside players to creep to another cone without being caught by the tagger. There should only be 1 player per cone. If the tagger catches someone then they become the tagger.
# Count how many changes of cones you can complete.
# Can you get your head up and commit the tagger
