Passing drill; variation of passes to include mid to long range diagonal passes using laces.

4 v 4 + 4 possession/ switching play game (20 mins.)
Three teams of 4 players, team in possession has the advantage of using 4 additional players who are positioned in four squares in wide areas of playing area as illustrated.
object of game is to keep possession, switch play from one side of play area to the other, then attack score zone at end of play area. The team will score a goal if they can complete a pass to a player in the boxes at the left/ right side of the field, then switch the play to the other side of the field before completing a pass to a team mate who has made the run into the score zone. After scoring a goal the team in possession will attempt to continue to score goals by playing out and scoring at the opposite end of the play area. The team out of possession will change positions with team in squares.
Coaches to encourage quick passing and movement off the ball, and the switch of play when there is an imbalance in the play area. Emphasis on body angles and enhancing vision of play area and options to play.
Defenders are not permitted to enter squares or end zone to intercept the pass or callenge receiver.
Game can be progressed or regressed by changing size of playing area and restricting touches on the ball to encourage quicker passing.

6 v 6 + GK's (25 mins.)
Small sided game to encourage switch of play. Team in possession keeps possession and plays towards oppositions goal to score a goal in general play. If the team can switch the play from left to right, or right to left completing passes with players in the wide area's (5m wide, marked by flat discs) the goal will be worth 3.
If the ball is lost out of play on touchlines coach to play new ball into play, possession given to defending team to encourage team to play out of defense.
If striker shoots wide of goal he must recover the ball, coach plays quick ball into defending team encouraging quick play with the overload of the extra player.
Coach encourages team to keep possession and create an imbalance in defending teams organisation, then exploit the space that's been created.

Player 1 plays a longer diagonal pass to player 2 and follows pass. Player 2 plays bounce pass to player 3 and follows pass. Player 3 longer diagonal pass to player 4 and follows pass. Player 4 plays diagonal pass to player 5 and follows pass. Player 5 bounce pass to player 6 and follows ball. Player 6 plays long diagonal pass back to starting point 1 and follows pass.
Longer diagonal passes made with laces if necessary to find the range depending upon age.
Bounce passes made with inside of foot, locked ankle.
Receiving ball on back foot, emphasis on good first touch and control.
Requires a minimum of 7 players (12 players in example.)
Drill to be rotated clockwise and anti-clockwise to encourage use of both feet.
The drill can progressed by introducing a second ball to increase players touches on the ball.
The drill can be progressed and regressed by adjusting the size of playing area.
