MOTG - We have the ball
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Organization: Use half pitch, with channels for wingers/FB along either sideline. Large net at one end. Play 8v5, with additional players substituting in on rotation.
Activity: Play begins with CDM playing ball into Striker (defenders activated once striker touches ball), Striker plays ball to either CAM who plays ball to into a channel to either Winger. Once ball is played to either wing, the defending FB on that side enters the channel to defend against the Winger with the ball and attacking FB who makes supporting run. Winger or FB make cross into central area where 4 attackers attempt to score on 2 CBs. PROGRESSION: Opposite defending FB can enter central area to defend goal, and a CB can enter channel to help FB against winger and FB with ball. PROGRESSION 2: Winger/FB can play ball back to CDM to switch to opposite channel
Coaching Points:
Can wide players; get/stay wide, make timed runs; and create and attack space.
Can players find open wide players with quality passes.
Are FB's able to make supporting runs, mindful of defender position and whether to stay in position of support and potential cross, or turn supporting runs into combination plays (overlap/give and go) to take ball deeper and then cross.
Are central players pushing up with play anticipating crosses to finish on goal.
