Stretch
Aim
To have the GK watching the attacker and the ball for clues as to where the ball is going to go.
Instructions
The GK will start on the red marker and facing c1
As soon as c1 starts moving towards the ball the GK can move forward and set for the 'shot'
c1 will power a shot into the GK's feet (or just past) so that the GK has to make a movement to get in the way of the ball
Progression
The ball is to be put wider by c1 so that the GK has to make a stretch for the ball (NOT a dive).
The GK then has to recover and get in line with c2 for a 2nd shot on goal

Moving forward (1)
Aim
To get back into the way of things. We always want to be diving forward to gather the ball
Instructions
The GK will start on the red marker and on his knees. 2 stationary balls are placed forward of the GK.
The C will give the comment of left or right and the GK is to move to this ball and gather with correct hand technique.
As soon as the GK has gathered the ball, he will move back to the red marker for the next movement (x8)
*** A spare GK should be used to replace the balls once they have been moved***
Progression
The ball is moved further away from the GK so that he really has to move out and push towards the ball

Moving forward (2)
Aim
To ensure that the GK's are moving forward towards the ball and securing it
Instructions
Again, the GK will start on the red marker
c1 will start by shooting the ball close into the GK forcing him to dive to his left or right. This dive HAS to be forward and with outstretched arms going for the ball.
The GK will rise to his feet and return back to the red marker for the next service (x8)
Progression
The ball is put out further to the side and with more power, we still want the ball secured and smothered

Simple Block
Aim
To get the GK's into a simple blocking position ensuring that they are filling up all the holes
Instructions
The GK will start on the red marker, c1 will have a ball at his feet.
Once the c has lifted the ball off the ground, the GK can move forward and set near to the c.
The c will try and find a hole in the GK's block position and throw the ball through it.
The GK will return to the red marker and go again (x8)
Progression
c1 will move to the left and c2 on the right, The GK will now have to move from one to the other to block all the balls (x8)

Shoot & Block
Aim
To have the GK making movements around the goal with the final save being a block from a rebounded ball
Instructions
The GK will start in the centre of his goal and facing the ball
Once c1 moves the ball out from his feet the GK can make a movement in order to set in a suitable position for the shot on goal.
As soon as the GK has dealt with this shot he has to move and reset in-front of c2 for a block
(both sides to be worked)
Progression
c2 will move further away from c1 to force the GK to have a larger movement
