GKC will demonstrate how to do the set position.
CP's:
- Feet Shoulder width apart
- On the balls of the feet, remaining balanced
- Body Weight Slightly Forward, knees flexed slightly, hips square and chest facing the ball, Nose in front of toes
- Head Still, Elbows narrow, Hands and arms parallel and in front of body line
- Thumbs up!
Instruction: *Assign markers closest to the GKC either a number or a color*
GK will move through the markers as instructed by the coach. After they complete the markers the GK will set in between two flat discs and listen for a cue. The GK will then go to the marker that was cued and perform the set position.
Movements:
1 foot in, 2 feet in, sidestep, lateral 1 foot in, lateral 2 feet in, lateral sidestep, bunny hop.
Progression 1:
- Add balls for a visual aid.

To start the GK will listen for a cue get ready to check to a flat disc that was called. From there the GK will get set and the Server will play the ball to the GK. GK will work on one side at a time then the middle.
Pattern:
- Right outside set, Right middle set
- Left outside set, Left middle set
- Left middle set, Right middle set
Possible Progressions:
- Different height thrown to the GK; bounce, toss, throw, etc.

Part A:
GK's will perform the Footwork Warm up illustrated above with the following movements. Switch order and sides.
Movements:
- Jog
- Holding the ball in front at a jog
- Left hand only bouncing ball at jog
- Right hand only bouncing ball at a jog
- Left and Right hand switching bouncing ball at jog
On the way back to reset the set GK will perform the other following movements.
Movements:
Jog, Butt Kicks, High Knees, Kick forward and backward
Kick to Side and across body, Open and close gates, back peddle
Part B:
GK's to pair up. GK's defending goal will move to get the ball tossed by the server to the side.
