Players will run a total of 30m. They will be timed at 10m, 20m and 30m. The times will be recorded and reviewed. This is essentially like the dash in the NFL combine without the speed gates for timing.

- Players will run 30m as quickly as they can. A player / coach will have a stopwatch at 10m, 20m and 30m. They will stop the watch as they pass the gate. Each player will have 3 times they they will need to record - 1@10m, 1@20m and 1@30m
- The coach can use an arm signal to start the run so that all watches can start at the same time
- This test not only measures speed but it also measures a players acceleration over a short distance. This test should be reviewed during pre-season so that players / coaches can check progress
- As this is a test, it cannot be adapted - it should be performed in the same environment when reviews take place
- Is is essential that players / coaches start the watch at the same time so the signal has to be agreed and understood!
