Pre-Season possession-based SSG session
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Players:
9 = 3v3+3, 10 = 3v3+4, 11 = 4v4+3
12 = 4v4+4, 13 = 4v4+5, 14 = 5v5+4
15 = 5v5+5, 16 = 5v5+6, 17 = 6v6+5
Set up as above, the 2 active teams (i.e. not in the shaded areas), aim to keep possession of the ball, using the shaded players to help them out when needed. For every 10 passes, the team in possession scores 1 point, and the other team gets the ball for the restart.
Play for 3 minutes, then swap which team is in the shaded area. Play for another 3 minutes, final team into the shaded area.
Players should be encouraged to call for the ball.
See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Playing as we did before, however, this time if the active defending team wins the ball back, the team who has lost the ball moves into the shaded areas, and the inactive players become active.
10 passes = 1 goal.
Play like this for 10 minutes. Encourage calling for the ball.

Wide areas and one central area in one half of the pitch are inactive zones.
Play a regular SSG, working as a team to score goals.
If your team wins the ball back:
Whites can only score by passing it to one of the wide players in the build up, which can include them putting a cross in.
Blues can only score by including their target player in the attack - he can't shoot.
Every 3 minutes, change GK and who is in the shaded areas. After all of white have been wide players, swap so blues have wide areas and white are central.
After another 12 minutes, see out the rest of the game with rush goalkeepers and no restrictions.

Arrival Activity (5 mins)
Each player is assigned a partner. 1 ball between pair.
For 5 minutes, move around the grid with your partner, lots of short passes - once you've passed it, you must move. Encouraging players to talk - Pass, partner's name, general conversation etc.
Extra challenge: Can you pass & receive with both feet?
