Skill Practice (30 mins)
Session Objectives (Group)
To develop an understanding of attacking through Zone 14 using a lone striker & a midfield 4.
Organisation
Pitch set up as shown. Dimensions to suit your players. Can be done in 1 direction if necessary.
Midfield players (black) play in both directions.
How to Play
Practice starts with the GK playing into midfield. Black players play 4v2 and try to play into the number 9. Once the ball has gone into the 9, he should link with 10 and the midfield players go "live" - make appropriate supporting runs.

Skill Practice
Some of the possible runs the support players might make.
The 2 defenders can defend until the ball goes dead.
After the attack ends, play resumes in the opposite direction. (Rotate MF and Def to avoid tiring).

Functional Practice (30 mins)
How to Play
Claret MF players move the ball around until someone can hit the 9 with a pass.
One of the Blue back 4 can play in the shaded area, but the blues cannot touch the ball until the 9 has played it.
After 9 has played the ball the game becomes free.
