Shooting & Finishing #2:
Setup: 3 orange cones on the left/right side of the 18-yard box. 2 mannequins on the edge of the 18-yard box as defenders - centre back and full back.
1). Player dribbles the ball through the cones and finishes by opening their body and having a shot on goal.
2). Player checks shoulder and moves into the space between CB and LB/RB. Make sure to stay onside. The ball is played in by the coach and the player takes a touch fowards and has a strike at goal
3). The same as #2. But the ball is being played from the left side. Again, remaining onside and looking to take 1 touch and then shoot.
4). The attacking player starts in-between the CB & full back, they make an overlapping/underlapping run inside or outside of the full back for the feeder player to pass the ball into their feed for a first time finish.

Shooting & Finishing - Activity 2 (Tight Angle Finishing):
Setup: (same for both sides). 1 Mannequin and 2 different coloured cones either side, in this instance blue and yellow.
Working on tight angled finishes plus the player's reactions. Looking at first touch, opening the body and aiming for the far post, looking to create a goalscoring opportunity from a tight angle.
1). Player starts close the defender. The attacker peels off, the coach will call a colour (blue in this instance) and the coach will play a pass into their feet. The attacker has to take a positive touch around the defender - aiming for the far post.
2). Same setup. But this time when the attacker peels off the defender the coach calls 'yellow'. The attacker recieves a pass and takes a touch around the outside of the defender to create a tight angled finish at the far post.
Variation: When the player recieves the ball and goes around the defender, they take a touch and pass around the defender and running around to take a shot.
Coaching Points:
Quick, sharp movement off the mannequin
Low body stance - better control, better balance
First touch - back foot, sliding off the inside of the back foot
Aggressive finishes, low and hard, far post

Close Control Finishing:
Setup: 8x8 area near the edge of the 18-yard box for striker to operate. 3 feeder areas for the striker to recieve a pass (highlighted by numbers 1, 2 & 3).
1). The striker plays with their back to goal, they recieve a pass, turn with the ball, and shoot. The striker has to keep the ball within the square area when recieving the pass and turning.
2). The striker makes an overlapping run around the cone (defender) for a low driven ball to be played in for a first-time shot.
3). The striker recovers to the squared area and the ball is played in from the left or right side. The Stiker controls the ball, opening their body and shooting at goal. They must control and shoot from inside the square area.
Progressions: Make the squared area smaller to encourage players to work in a tighter area.

2). Player starts on Mannequin A again, this time they spin inside of both the centre back and full back for a low driving cross from out wide for them to run onto and shoot first time.
