To improve the technical aspects of proper ball handling, and footwork.

Organization: 4 color cones. 1 Gk and 1 Server.
Instructions: Server calls color. GK must touch the color cone before setting back in the middle and saving the ball. Rotate after 8 serves.
Coaching Points: Move quickly into set position. Body weight on the balls off feet. Getting in line with the ball. Keeping head still with eyes fixed on the ball. Footwork.
Handling technique (Basket or W )
Serve use 3 services: Underarm Throw, Half Volley or Volley.
Progressions: 1) Same as above but GK goes around the cone before getting back in the middle to receive the ball.
) Server this time touches the colored cones infront of him instead of shouting the color.

Organization: Penalty area with 4 x cones in a line. G
Instructions: GK moves in front of the cone, back around to set in position and save volley from the coach. GK then moves forward to the next cone and repeats. Move to the left and the right.
Coaching Points: 1. Agility, balance, coordination and speed 2. Footwork (do not cross feet) 3. Transition of body weight 4. Head in line with the ball 5. Handling Contour and Scoop Save.
Progressions: 1. GK now moves backwards through the cones, towards the goal line. 2. Server this time serves it on the ground for a scoop catch.

Organization: Rectangle with halfway line. 6 yard goal at each end. Lots of soccer balls.
Instructions: GK’s will throw the ball at each other trying to score using any of the three services (Underarm, Sidearm or Overarm) When a GK gets scored on, change the GK. Or after 90 seconds.Whichever comes first.
Coaching Points: Transition of body weigh. Head in line with the ball.Attack the line of the ball 7. Handling Contour, Scoop and Basket Catch.
Progressions: Move to 2 v 2 3 second possession game.

Instructions: GK’s will throw the ball at each other trying to score using any of the three services (Underarm, Sidearm or Overarm) When a GK gets scored on, change the GK. Or after 90 seconds.Whichever comes first.
GK can only have the ball in their hands for 3 seconds or other team gets the ball.
Coaching Points: Reinforce all the coaching points from before.

Warm-Up
Organization: 20x20 Square/ Rectangle. Adjust accordingly to number of players
Instructions: Players start shuffling in and out of each other within the practice box while bouncing a ball on the ground, when coach yells out:
Scoop – Players will place their ball on the floor and go and scoop another ball
Up- Players will toss the ball high, hop on 1 foot to catch the ball and land on 2 foot.
Fist - Players will play keepy up using the fist . 5 Right. 5 Left.
Fingers - Players will play keepy up using fingertips only. 5 Right. 5 Left.
Coaching Points: Ensure players to become comfortable with dealing with bounce balls, air ball, and ground ball. Introduce 3 techniques of scoop, the basket and contour save.
Eyes always fixed on the ball. Getting ready for the session.
Progressions: Players pair up and play catch and throw using one hand.
