Conditions
Ball starts with server every time, The ball is transfered from the server to the red goal keeper & Then the drill starts.
Blues initially drop off encouraging reds to play out from the back.
Red CB starting positions when server has the ball - Narrow up, Either side of D, Trigger for either of them to split is when the keeper has the ball in his hands.
Red full backs starting position when server has the ball - Inline with the corners of 18 yard box.
When keeper has the ball the 2 Red CB's Split both corners of 18 yard box & Full backs go touchline wide..
Blue 9 - Starting position is inline with the penalty spot, Prepared to make arc'd run.
Blue 7/11 - Starting point just outside lines of the 18 yard box
Blues target is to win the ball high up the pitch preventing ball progressing through the units if they win ball back they have 8 seconds to score.
Once a shot is taken or the 8 seconds are up, ball resumes with the server and the same transfer process happenss and the blue team drop off.
Key Points / Detail
GK passes to the Red 4, The Blue 9 arcs his run to close down defender cutting off the passing angle to opposite Red CB (5) and RedGK.
Blue 7/11 player (depending on what side the ball goes to ) moves onto inside shoulder of Red 2/3 to show them inside.
Blue deep lying CM 10, Moves into inside shoulder of red CDM 6 player, If ball is played to feet he looks to win it or push RED player backwards to their own goal.
Blue 7/11 ( Depending on what side the ball goes ) player comes narrower ( in line with goal post ) providing cover and an extra man if the ball is played inside, he also tries to win the ball.
