Immediate Support / passing Option.
What do you do when you lose the ball?
Interchangeable Parts: Mobility & Awareness.
Prevent goal scoring opportunity.
Person in Possession Needs minimum three options. Once ball breaks line, immediate support. Lose your marker!!
Tactical Nuances:
More often than not, HM and OB will be marked. If we find a way to get ball into the pockets on strong side (usually #10/9 or strong side OM). HM and OB need to lose their marker to get open.
What do you do if near side HM is always marked? Rotate between #6 .
Opposite OM needs to stay wide to find them as outlet. If they decide to come in, OB on that side needs to give width. If OB comes in, OM needs to get/stay wide.
Opposite outside mid, needs to stay wide and high in build-up phase. If they check into pocket to receive the ball, Now strong side OB can overlap (if they have time to turn or immediate support).

Turning Progression (15 mins)
Pre-Game Warm-up: 10-15 minutes
A) Groups of 4 (2 on each end). OR group of two working on same thing
i. Dribble to partner, can work on doing moves and getting comfortable with the ball
ii. Inside of foot / Driven ball
iii. inside / outside of foot bending ball
iv. Chipped or driven ball with dummy run and given and go
B) Turning with no Pressure
i. "Turn" or "Man on". (turn = receive w/ hips open and front foot, play on second touch); (Man on = lay off & spin or turn to the side with inside or outside and play target who opened up on that side and then get it back for a small give and go)
ii. 'Man coming' or 'Man on' - Man coming (stop the ball dead and bend it inside or outside OR flick it first time OR dummy it and get it back on other side) Man on is same as above
C) Turning With Limited Pressure Game
Now minimum of 6 per lane. 3 on each end.
- attackers checks at an angle while defender:
i. Doesn't go with defender which means attacker can turn and person giving the ball says 'turn'
ii. Defender goes but gives space which would mean it's man coming or man on
iii. Defender follows closely and server yells man on.
